Recently relocated in Kharkhorin, formerly known as Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Great Mongol Empire, Altan Khaan Gallery was launched in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar to make the world aware of Mongolian contemporary art and have the world appreciate it fully (see www.fine-arts-of-mongolia.com).
It has selected talented young artists all originated from Greater Mongolia and whose artworks are all in relation with life and culture from that region.
This Asian art thus emerges from the steppes of northern Asia. In effect, after too many years of frustration during which art had become a simple mean of propaganda, Mongolian artists now freely express on their canvases their emotions, their so particular vision of the world and of its changes.
From Mongolia to the East, the West and beyond, the gallery boldly and vigorously wields the banner of their beloved values: a true love of family, an utmost respect of Mother Nature, a genuine worship of Heaven and Universe.
Welcome to their universe!
